IP protection and code ownership are foundational to every Sundew product development engagement. The client owns 100 percent of the source code, the intellectual property, and the product from day one. GitHub organizations are set up under client ownership. All code is committed to repositories the client controls. Escrow arrangements are available for additional assurance. Sundew's engagement contract explicitly transfers all IP rights to the client at the moment of creation, not upon project completion. Sundew retains no rights to the product, no exclusivity clauses that limit the client's ability to move engineering elsewhere, and no lock-in mechanisms in the codebase. The product is the client's, unambiguously and from the first commit forward.

Sundew's product development process runs four phases across the product lifecycle. Phase one is prototyping and validation, typically 4 to 8 weeks, where interactive prototypes and clickable mockups are engineered and tested with real users. Phase two is MVP development, typically 12 to 20 weeks, where a production-ready MVP is shipped to first users on architecture that will scale to enterprise-grade. Phase three is enterprise product engineering, typically 6 to 18 months, where the MVP is scaled with multi-tenant architecture, feature depth, compliance controls, and ten times scalability. Phase four is managed product evolution, ongoing, where Sundew operates as the managed tech partner for feature releases, security maintenance, compliance renewal, and roadmap continuity. Every phase is engineered on the architectural foundation of the phase before it, so nothing is thrown away and every engineering investment compounds.

Compliance and security are engineered into every product from the first commit, not retrofitted at audit time. Sundew operates under SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001:2022, and ISO 9001:2015 certifications, and applies GDPR-aligned working standards across all client engagements. For products serving healthcare or life sciences, HIPAA-aligned engineering practices are applied. Every product engagement includes secure CI/CD pipelines with static analysis, dynamic testing, dependency scanning, and container security. Zero-trust identity architecture, encryption at rest and in transit, and role-based access control are engineered as design defaults. Compliance evidence collection, audit trails, and control documentation are built into the product so the client's compliance certification audit is a checkbox exercise, not a rebuild.
