The business context

When a national government launched a country-scale quantum computing initiative, the website was never going to be a simple information site. It had to serve as the primary communication channel for a scientific mission of national importance, translating complex quantum research into content that citizens, researchers, and industry stakeholders could all understand and trust.

At the same time, mission administrators needed a secure, reliable way to manage frequent updates, publish structured content, and control who could access and change what, without slowing the pace of a fast-moving initiative down.

The challenge

The mission required a digital platform that could communicate a complex quantum initiative clearly, while supporting secure administrative workflows, frequent updates, and controlled stakeholder access.

Sundew built the backend powering content storage and structured publishing on PostgreSQL, hosted across AWS and the government's own secured infrastructure. Role-based access was configured so that administrators, contributors, and stakeholders each operated within permissions matched to their responsibilities. Secure data handling was built into the platform's foundation, and automated workflows were introduced to reduce manual overhead in publishing and content management, keeping updates moving without compromising control.

Structured content publishing

The platform was designed for frequent, structured content updates, giving mission administrators a straightforward way to communicate ongoing developments, mission updates, and program information without depending on ad hoc technical support for every change.

Responsive front end

A React-based, responsive front end was paired with the backend to improve content delivery and make navigation intuitive for a broad public audience, from everyday citizens to researchers and industry partners seeking deeper information on the country's quantum vision.

Usage and engagement analytics

An analytics layer gave mission administrators visibility into how citizens, researchers, and industry stakeholders were actually using the platform, turning a public communication channel into something the mission could measure and improve, rather than simply publish to.

The platform now serves as the primary gateway for citizens, researchers, and industry to understand the country's quantum vision.
